Simb2 has the Godspeed 335 set up on his Classic type R and I have to say they work very well!!!!!!
I've got the gold brembos off a 06 STI on my classic and they are on a par with them.

The Sti route was the other way I was looking at. It seems to be better on cost as well. First off I'm going to try grooved discs and green stuff pads upgrade (I have fitted braided hoses) and go from there. I have track time booked at Castle Combe in April and May so the current OE brakes (although only I recently changed the pads and the front discs) will be shot and will be changed. I will keep you updated.

Changing over to Brembos is cheaper than you think.
Quite a few of us have picked up a brand new complete (front and rears) set of brembos off of brand new Spec C that prodrive have converted into group N cars
We've all paid around £600 for the calipers, discs and pads, either use the rears with a conversion kit or sell them on and you'll get £275-300 for the old 4 pot fronts.
I paid £575 for my set, sold my old fronts for £275 and the rears for £275, I had to £25 for the redrilling of the PCD

new age sti oe seems a cost effective option but are'nt the pcd's going to be different, how do you get around that? are brembo's that much better than the new subaru 4pots with a larger disc and pad?

IMHO the Godspeed kit is an expensive option when compared to the Brembo's.
PCD on 2001 to 2004 are the same, on later models where the pcd is different you simply get the disc's re-drill with the correct PCD, ACE Motorsport or Godspeed can sort this out, not sure on the price but it isn't expensive.

I dont think the STi Brembo's will fit under standard WRX wheels though , if you have different wheel so they fit , I would change the pads and maybe the discs with the Brembo's , the pads aren't up to much spirited driving

As said they won't fit under WRX wheels, even with a 10mm spacer, Gazz tried. But you've already changed you wheels??
Redrilling the PCD is very quick and easy and only cost me £25 at godspeed.
I'm just about to change my brake pads, which have done 14K and anyone that knows where I live, knows the brakes get a good workout every trip out, they are okay for road use but if your planning on going on track with them, As said Uprated the pads to DS2500etc

size isnt i problem shes got 18,s, only problem could be getting hold of a full set of new brembos for £55o ish, probably get the fr kit off godspeed; 335mm plain rotors, alloy bells, caliper spacers for larger dia and width (saw them last week their huge) and jaguar pads to contact a larger area of the disc, unless anyones had a bad experience with this kit,let me know.
