I would do a little research on them as you don't simply want to wind the boost up for more power.... something may go pop.

I would imagine it is somehthing like a Dawes device, but i wouldn't buy something for £13 to controller the boost on my car.

If you want independant boost control get an Apexi AVCR they are regarded as the best on the market, which is why i just fitted one, can be had for about £260

Default Bleed valve

The boost controller in question is a mechanical bleed valve of which enables you to override the boost settings provided by your ECU. This in turn will override all control from your ECU including safety features. In order to correctly run the car safely the fuel should be adjusted to suit, there are ways of plumbing the standard fuel regulator to adjust quicker by using pressure from your emissons canister but I personally would always opt for a remap or ECU chip in which will keep full control provided by the ECU.
