Default Slight Problem.

I bought a back box off of ebay for the car and only after checking the auction it said it was for the 1997-2000 wrx classic shape, well when i have tried to fit the exhaust its about 2inches too short i was wondering if the center pipe on a wrx is different to that of a Turbo2000. Also my car was registerd in 2001 but is it the 2000 parts i want?

What options have i got ?

Cheers Melon.

You could always just pop up to Pro-speed and they can make up a section to go inbetween. (just a thought, simple I know)

You've bought a jap exhaust, Some are shorter and use a longer centre section and some are the same size. Has it been modified, ie a newage converted to a classic fitment

Jem and chris had problems with their down pipe on there exhaust, Theres is a Jap one.

You can always buy a centre to suit or sell it on and buy one that fits.

Most mainstream ones will fit it's just some of the Jap made ones that have issues.

Your more than welcome to buy my Magnex backbox which is for sale. And it will fit streight on no problems!!!!!!

any ideas as to how much that may be?? The old man has said he could make something up in work so that could be an option too. Mainly to tide me over till ive saved for a full system.

Yes we had the same problem and pro speed sorted it for us. Can't remember the cost but wasn't very much.

Up to you what to do really, either go with Dannys idea of selling it on and getting a correct fitment or have something made up till you get a new centre section.

Wont cost much as they just chop off the flange and change it to a slip joint with a bit more length

Its confusing mate the latest classics were in a change over period with the bug eyes (they are older just registered later i believe), if i remember rightly you have an x reg, i have the Y reg in the same colour and one of my friends has just bought a 51 reg P1, i believe that there is a 51 reg classic wagon in Keith price. This is strange since WRX Bug eyes can be found early as an X reg(i know i went to look at one )

Personally i quote my Car as MY00 and when ever i order anything always enter into the converstion thats is one of the last Turbo 2000 shape classics that usually sorts descriptions out,i dont use any sort of MY01 description as im pretty sure that to most people they will all take that as a bug eye

Just my opinion obviously

Cheers

Ian
