I don't know where this pipe goes but is there any oil anywhere else? Like on the top of cambelt cover?

Beingthat the pipe is metal and crimped joints to flexi pipe i'd say it's a powersteering high pressure pipe to the steering rack . If it's leaking then they'll be redish colour to the oil , also is they an oil cooler on it as they can have the same type of pipe and the oil filter is close to where that pipe is .
hope this helps .

Check the car out from underneath tonight, the pipe is connected to the oil filter and some other place but it doent seems to be coming from there.

Just hope its not a crank shaft seal or some thing.

Get the car on ramps, and wipe away any oil from the bottom of the engine, cam cover and oil filter.

Run the engine for 10-15 mins to warm the oil through.
Then look for runs/drips of oil.

I had the same problem.
It happened to be the crank drive oil seal. Oil was comming out the cam cover and riding down this pipe.

Smile Pipe

Hi,

The circled pipe is the oil cooler supply pipe. It distributes engine coolant through the oil cooler which your oil filter connects too. Mine was corroded at about 75k miles on my uk turbo. Would recommend replacing it as they apparently have a tendancy to burst. Think I paid about £20 from dealership. Fitting is relatively straight forward from underneath.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

My 98 UK Turbo has done 92k and apparently the oil ocooler pipe has burst so the garage in Inverness tells me. Its going to cost £160 for the part - sounds to me like a bit of a rip off ?!! Can you remember if it was really £20 or thereabouts for your replacement. Any thoughts from anybody would be really welcome.

Many thanks,

Mike

Mine wasnt that pipe, it was the crank shaft oil seal leaking and dripping from the crank case onto the pipe.
