Default Trying to get back the enthusiasm

Just had a look at scoobyworld and seen a sports cat downpipe for £299 which seems a cheap price for a sports cat. Now I know they say its going to passs emisions with one but what would the gains be, in conjunction with my prodrive back box and centre section and would noise levels increase. Also would the ecu detect this and adjust to suit.
Its tempting me, feel I need something new and shiny!!

Go on ... you know you want to !

My scoobysport downpipe made hell of a difference. I think they say to expect anywhere between 25-45 bhp gain which doesnt sound a lot but you do notice it when its that little bit more responsive. As I said in the other post, it shouldnt effect the remap either

Received mine today, getting it fitted tomorrow.

I'll let you know what its like. I currently have a MY00 with Magnex centre and back box but standard cat downpipe, so am very interested in what difference it makes.

It was £315 delivered.

I know I should be heat wrapping it, but I'm too impatient to order some stuff so no.

Using SHG in Bridgend, they did my servicing on my last scoob and are very knowledgeable - apparently do a lot of Imprezas around here.

They are also going to fit my new clutch soon for £200.

Silver Scoob - you got one on yours? If so whats it like!!?

I've not got that one but I do have an open neck one
She spools up like a good one

Take a few more days get some wrap... it's a messy job though as you really need to soak it and apply wet then you really need to leave it dry for a week, you can put it straight on but the car will smoke a little when it is drying it really keeps the engine bay temp down by quite a lot.

Too late now - booked in for tomorrow!

I am hoping the turbo will spool maybe 500rpm sooner, just like it did on my fully-decatted 95 WRX.

Then its clutch, filter and remap. Bring it on

Well ordered it today, spoke with them for a while , apparently its got a 25 year garantee on the pipe so they are very confident in its quality. And talked to them about wrapping and they were almost against it
But hey at least I got something to brighten the day up .

After a long drawn out couple of days, involving me having to go to Abergavenny to get an exhaust gasket (yes I know), I've had the car back with the Ninja fitted.

Well pleased. Makes a bit more rumble, but not too much, and the turbo defo kicks in a bit earlier and you can hear the turbo working more easily.

As for power, don't think its a massive improvement, but definitely better.

I'm getting it remapped in a couple of weeks anyway, that should see a bigger improvement.

My advice for anyone - get the gasket first before you take the old downpipe off!!! Its only available from a main dealer, (around here anyway) and costs 23quid!

Blimey prices have gone up, paid £12 for mine two years ago.

You should see a good improvement with the remap with this on

I hope so. There is a quote on the Scoobyworld site mentioning 306bhp or something with this fitted.

I'd be more than happy with 270-280
