Default Tint's

Before any of you quote me from my origional post of "I'm not looking for any mods" I am toying with the idea of a light / smoked tint - nothing to dark as I don't want anymore attention than the scooby already gets especially from the rozza's. Obviously the only reason I am looking at tints is to keep the interior temperature down for the nippers........................my **** .

Our last car was done in Cardiff - can't remember the name of the place but a cracking job, anyone on here got any recommendations for a place near Newport / Cardiff etc that will do an A1 job????? Saw a new generation with tints yesterday on the M42 and it looked crackingso obviously all I have to do is persuade her indoors which shouldn't be too hard as she loved the black astra GSI turbo with tints so hopefully justifying it will be easy, I think?

Thanks, Paul

Probably not much use to you but the best I've come across are South Coast Tints in Southampton. Just had the missus X Trail done and the job was top notch! www.sctints.co.uk Not aware of anyone with a good rep in the Cardiff area sorry which is why I got hers done there.

Paul,

Speak to Silver scooby sport (Simon), he had his car done recently and it looks a top job. I can't quite remember if he had it done in Cwmbran, probably best to ask him.

I've been hunting high and low for the phone number and as yet can't find it If you give Keith Price's a call on 01873 811555 ask to speak to John Price and he will give you the number... he does their tinting when they need any done. He come's from up in the valleys and is mobile.

Gents, just a word of warning with this, before you spend your hard-earned on some tints:-

Fine if you`re getting just the rears done, but if you`re getting the fronts done as well, make sure that the tints will still allow enough light through to still remain legal, as VOSA are now doing roadside checks, and have the tint-machine with them.

If your tints are too bad, then they will issue an immediate prohibition notice, and in any case, if they`re just slightly illegal (if you know what I mean) will still put a 7 day prohibition notice on, so you still need them removing anyway.

Not sticking my nose in, but just my tuppeny`s worth.

Cheers all - VOSA is a good point, I may well give this a little more consideration.

Good man, stay off the rollercoaster.

Save the money from the tints and put it towards some 18" wheels, a dump valve or a TSL Ti-Phoon instead.
