Default Can I interest you in a Clio Cup for your Scooby, sir?

According to this week's autocar the Renault clio cup is a better proposition over a winding B-road than a Scooby. They also rated the new Golf GTI as better. OK it was only the standard 222hp wrx model (and a wagon to boot) but still. The clio has the better power to weight ratio because it weighs a massive 700lbs less (or 300kilos if you prefer). And it was dry of course.

'Sfunny cos earlier in the year they tested 20 cars and gave the scooby second spot - this was the 335hp type 25 though. The clio was 10th I think.

So if you see a poxy clio in your mirror think twice about racing him unless it's wet. Or unless you have an extra 20+hp over standard.

The clio cup will keep up with a classic Uk turbo (standard) if driven correctly with not too much trouble. They really are good fun little cars. The new 182 is not so quick though, even with the cup suspension on it, and it is worth remembering that the current 225bhp WRX is a lot heavier than a classic one, and with the same power. (in other words they are rubbish which is why no-one buys them!!!).
