Loud knocking noise coming from the engine. Not mine, but my mates. It doesnt knock when idle, only once the car goes above 2500rpm..... Anyone out there with any ideas as to what it could be ?

Any oil in the engine mate? Could be a broken lifter or something through oil starvation

How old is the car and is it under warranty ?
As you will need a new engine more or less cost is £2500 notes I think so if its an older one trade it into another garage I would unless its under warranty.

The dealership have been sound so far. They acknowledged the car was still under warranty from the start. Subaru assistance delivered the car for me. I just have to go to pick it up when its all sorted. Just means im not gonna be able to go to the Rally next week :-(
