body shops around Newport/Monmouth S.Wales
#1
Had a front on with a Mondeo with crap brakes in some lanes on the weekend.
Will now see what Elephant insurance are like (so far so good)
Will not use their repair companies so can anyone recommend a good body shop with Subaru history, as I need 2 quotes ASAP.
Drivers door and front wing to be replaced and sprayed up to look new.
Cheers
Aaron

Sorry to hear about the smash. I've never used an independant bodyshop...any work that has needed to be done on mine has been done by Keith Prices' bodyshop in Abergavenny. Obviously being a Subaru dealer, they would be the best to see, although they may not be the cheapest....worth getting a quote from them though.
How is the insurance being worked out ? knock for knock, or is there responsibility on the other driver or yourself ? If it was the other drivers fault I would insisit on a Subaru dealer, whether KP or CVC in Cardiff, if you have had dealings with them
Hope you get it sorted
Gareth

Cheers Gareth will try Keith Price on Monday.
Well I braked and stopped in time but the Mondeo went into a skid and hit me! No witnesses.
But it was on a country lane, so it looks like a knock for knock. I will see what my legal cover can do to recover the excess.
Looks like £1500-£2000 damage, so def. through the insurance.

NWS - i was thinking he going to stop, any minute now, i know its a ford but he will stop, (puff of smoke-skid starts), any minute now and he will stop, put car into reverse, BANG to late.
And the worst think is, is that I'm looking around for a new scoob at the moment.
Never mind, at least my neck brace (cough cough) will only have to be on until the insurance - sorry the neck is better.

Sti 5/6 mate. Better kit than a P1 and you can get 'em in black which just looks sexy as.... muck? Ruck? duck?
You get the idea!
Agree with NWS though, spec-c is definitely the way to go, they seem to be getting rave reviews everywhere they are going so far!.

Phew - other driver admitted liability.
Booked into Keith Price for new door and wing.
Just had an arguement with the insurance company about the week long car hire
Offered me a Vectra (what the ****) but managed to get a 2.3litre Merc C class with tiptronic gearbox fully loaded from a performance hire company in London - Thank you Direct Line.

If you are thinking of a classic STi or P1, let me know and I will take you out for a spin in mine.

V Nice blue scoob. I can imagine it sounds awesome with that big sound tube sticking out the back.
Thank you for the offer, but I have manage to test drive a P1/STI/Honda S2000 so far.
The P1 is awesome and has the looks to match, but just concerned about doing 27'000 - 30'000 miles a year in it.
Honda S2000 - great sound/performance, handling worrying.
Leaning to a STI at the moment (or maybe a Merc after next week?)
Cheers
