Just to update this.
Driving down from M4 services J47 I noticed that in the 40 section by Tesco Fforestfach the road has had 30MPH warnings painted but the signs are still 40MPH so hopefully still doing 40 may be OK just be aware they are changing to 30 soon.


Drove up Carmarthen Road Swansea to Wicks earlier and noticed that the 40MPH section from Cwmbwrla roundabout to Aldi is now 30MPH. No signs to say the speed limit has changed but we noticed that the road had been repainted further up with 30MPH between B&Q and Aldi. Could not see any of the 40MPH signs going to town. I guess this is effective but I thought they have to post speed limit change notices.
I saw in the local rag and on BBC last Friday that they were changing the speed limit but it did not say when. Bet the speed cameras have been re-set to 30.

 

I hope not as I went through the one opposite kwik-fit coming into town doing 40 this afternoon.

 

I can understand why they might have... I blast it through that roundabout haha. The signs are the ones dictating the limit. If it's on the road it doesn't mean much - like a recommended speed limit (black circle instead of red).

 

The road signs have been changed along Carmarthen Road Swansea to 30 in a RED circle in the sections that were 40. Speed limit has been changed be careful?

 

Yep it's now a 30 mph limit, and it has new cameras as well !!
One by McDonald's and one further down past cwmbwrla on Carmarthen road, at the junction with gors avenue !!
It's a red light and speed and tax camera, they are digital and so live all the time, let's be careful out there chaps !!
