Default Carbon bonnet repair

Hi hope someone can help I have a carbon bonnet that is now showing signs of sun bleaching and age so was hoping someone could recommend a local paint shop or someone who could re-lacquer it as I have been told this will bring the bonnet back to life. or any other suggestions you guys might have.

many thanks in advance

Probably best to ask a few of your mates to recommend a body shop and take it there. Just a thought if they can't do anything could you could get it carbon wrapped???

I have asked one or two of my local body/paint shops but none of them seem confident on how to repair or bring it back, so didn't fill me with confidence, was after some one who had restored carbon before. I could wrap it but seems a shame as its real carbon, wrapping never looks as good

Julian at aerodynamix is a carbon guru, he'd be able to give you some quality advice. I've used him numerous times for my Westfield and his workmanship is first class. He's based in the Forest of Dean so not too far.

Once the top coats coming off its tricky, you need to sand it all back off then apply fresh clear coat

I've really had no experience with wrapping so not sure of the quality but if you can't get it done it's going to look far better than a sun bleached panel. Hopefully someone will be along that can help you out.

we've tried to flat and lacquer carbon bonnets and to be honest it doesn't really work, and like you say its a shame to wrap a proper carbon bonnet as i don't think it looks the same,i think you need to find as proper carbon specialist, hope that is some help

many thanks for your replies, I will try aerodynamix today, I have searched online and there's plenty of companies in America that say they can repair and have videos showing there work that's exactly what I am looking for, as you said they sand it back and re apply clear coat. the carbon itself isn't bleached just the top coat. there are also DIY videos but as I don't really have the space for a bonnet and don't really want to make it worse .

many thanks
