Advice please :)
Hi guys I need some advice on a vibrating situation (don't get excited
) since new turbo has been installed I get vibrations coming up through steering wheel when turning and accelerating through bends? I got told its the downpipe touching the steering bits as I turn and accelerate.. If this is the case how do I stop it?? Or is there another reason for it? When turning normal and not accelerating it doesn't vibrate! Any ideas would be great cheers

Just replace them.
There is normally a bracket halfway down the downpipe that attaches to the gearbox and another further along the exhaust. I ran mine for years without the first one and never caused a problem, if they failed to fit both back then it might move a lot. The second one can be a bit of a pain to line up so maybe they didn't bother?
Have a look under the car around half way and give it a shake to see if it moves.
If its an aftermarket downpipe it might not have the top bracket but again this one makes no odds if its attached or not.
The turbo won't move if fitted correctly as the bolts go through a bracket attached to the engine that bolts to the uppipe, they'd have to be pretty incompetent not to have put that back when re fitting.

Took it back today, turbo is bigger than standard so down pipe is just an inch off steering bits,so options was to send downpipe off to charlie to modify it or put a dent in it with hammer lol..then the lad finds one of the nuts is loose on turbo, does that up and guess what..sorted! God knows but no bad vibrations

When someone wants to put a dent in a down pipe with a hammer to make it fit my alarm bells start ringing!!
When that someone is a so called specialist I'm even more worried
Bry, you really need to think about what's going on here .
