Default Carbon Fibre Exterior Door Skins?

Would anyone be interested in carbon fibre door skins, these would replace your painted metal ones. Installation would be - remove OE outer door skin (cut off) and then bond carbon skin adding door handles.

The advantage of this over FRP/CF doors is you get to retain all your safety from the OE doors so no roll cage would be needed, perfect for a day to day car.

No photos yet mate its all in my head, imagine peeling away the outer metal door skin and having carbon one bonded in place. The idea is that you will keep your OEM doors so you retain the side impact bars for safety, fibreglass doors are very dangerous to use on the road so i'd like to offer a safer alternative

ah ok, my car has had the impact bars cut out, so wont make a difference to me, but sounds good, not enough carbon bits for scoobs, but then again, it does fade, which puts people off, which i think is why a lot do carbon dipping now.

Fading is to do with the lacquer, if you get a good job done a part will last years its just most places like us only use a uv protection gel instead to keep final costs down and leave that up to the buyer. A lot of people buff a part using t-cut which works a treat but it only lasts for a few years before it starts to fade in the sun.

Ok guys update on this, I really want to get these out there.

The carbon outer door skin will bond to the exterior of the door, the idea being as Ive said in the first post you can keep your safety bars while showing off a nice carbon exterior

Prices will be £200 per skin or £750 for a full 4, full carbon fibre doors are over £500 each so this is a huge saving offering the same look if you arent bothered about loosing some of the weight.

Would anyone be interested in a set?

Side impact bars are inside the door these will cover the exterior shell it wont have any effect on protection, if you were to buy full fibreglass or carbon doors then it would be an issue you cant add impact bars into them.

We can make them thick enough so they'd cope but it all depends on how heavy they are hit
