It's sprayed. We use a number of cleaning methods, depending on the state of the block when it arrives. As far as we're concerned, the finish outside should reflect the care taken inside, and that's why we do it.

Does the motor come with a 'close-proximity force-field' all around it, so as to keep it that clean forever?!
