Default What do you think?

Parts plating, bolts and bits.
We're thinking of offering this on all of our future builds as it looks great, and should give a long lasting rust free finish.

When I one day manage to save enough cash to have my engine overhauled by you this is what I would like!

Think it looks the business when you see all the nuts and bolts and other parts have been finished like this.

I recently restored my Mk1 Escort Mexico and i spent £500 on new stainless nuts n bolts as it finishes it all off.

I've done a few builds with re-plated nuts/bolts/brackets etc..

They look great when done, very OEM, but they I've found they tend not to last as well as originals, or stainless.

Now whether that was down to who I used for the plating or not I don't know, but it is a fraction of the cost and far easier than trying to replace everything with stainless.

I reckon get some on a car and see how they last.

Yep, I think a patina will develop, but it certainly beats rust!

Unfortunately the zinc and chrome passivataion which is what the yellow finish is will corrode and give off white sacrificial corrosion products after an exposure to our Winter weather with road salt. It looks nice when it's done but it won't stand two Winters with at least tarnishing. Any surface damage will show up with white salty deposits unfortunately.

Well, considering how the stock bolts corrode, we're willing to take a chance on patination! It beats not bothering at all in my view.
