As the new hatchbacks are now coming out of warranty people may be wanting to tune them, problem is even in standard form the 2,5 engines suffer from piston land failure at an alarming rate.

It first shows up with and increase in oil consumption, if not caught in time, by having a leak-down test, not a compression test, a leak-down test, it will eventually lead to cylinder walls damage.

There are many after-market forged pistons available but they all use new piston rings, this means a complete engine strip down, re bore and hone to suit with a 1000 mile running in period and two oil changes before any tuning can be done, not ideal and very expensive.

We at the clinic have just launched our new drop in pistons for the 2.5's, these run the original rings and clearances therefore no running in required or full engine strip, which means a drive in drive out price of just £2500.00 future proofs your 2.5 ready to accept further mods, this also applies to both WRX and STI as they run the same "hyperutectic" pistons.
