I'm sure this will slow down the amount of Imprezas being broken with knocking engines.

Bump.

We're doing around 3 per month at the moment. If anyone is planning a pre summer rebuild and would like to discuss options give me a shout!

Read the information provided!

This "rebuild" price of £1500 only consists of gaskets and bearings, so the engine will take no more in real terms.

That's correct, the rebuild doesn't actually do anything specific to allow you to run more power, other than replace your worn big end & main bearings with ACL race spec bearings, and replace your timing belt, oil pump & head gaskets with new ones. But those in themselves don't really allow you to run much more power. If you want to run BIG power then firstly you need either a closed or semi closed deck block, then forged pistons & rods.

If you are looking to run good power then we do a really nice Eclipse Performance / Cosworth EJ20 2.2 Stroker kit for £1,695. That includes Cosworth 8.0:1 CR forged pistons, Eclipse Performance Forged H-Beam rods, ARP2000 rod bolts, 79mm EJ257 Nitrided rear thrust Crankshaft & ACL Race series Big end & Main bearings. It will be good for 650bhp in a Closed deck block.

The rest of the cost (assuming you wanted a standard timing belt, Subaru multilayer head gaskets & uprated oil pump) will be £1,500 including labour. (Thats based on a drive in, drive out rebuild. You could send us your short motor on a mail order bases & that will save you £500).

We can also do a pair of Cosworth stopper head gaskets & a Cosworth Kevlar timing belt for an additional £140.

All those prices include VAT.

There are loads of options as each rebuild is different depending on whatever you are looking for.

Linking the sound of the stroker kit, will keep in mind for when the ej257 gives up and forces me to use the cdb I've got saved for the occasion

We've built around 40 subaru engines in the last 3 years, including various rally car engines - the Dirt 3 car we currently run & the N12 Hawkeye we built and ran in the Scottish rally championship. We've built a lot of forged engines that are running between 400 & 500 bhp - including my own v1 classic that's got 440bhp. Last month we built a Cosworth engine for a spec C Hawkeye that is aiming to reach around 650 bhp later in the year. Currently we have 4 rebuilds in the workshop. 1 standard rebuild, 1 mail order forged rebuild, and 2 of our 2.2 stroked rebuilds on bugeyes.

We're also building unique time attack car which uses a classic Subaru floor pan with a Peugeot 206 World Rally Car body grafted onto it. Using an EJ22 were aiming for the 700bhp mark.

There is a lot of information on our web site, and for anyone that doesn't know us were happy for you to come and have a look around to see what we do!

The question is how many engines have they rebuilt well? LMAO

They are now closed down - so sad news for anyone expecting the warranty to be upheld.

Well it's a 2 year old thread you have replied to so any 3 month warranty would have expired long ago anyway.
