Thumbs up

Goodwood, I did it yesterday and its a great circuit. I must stress that good brakes are the key factor to this track as its the second fastest in the country (Thruxton 1st). Massive sweeping straights with only the apex marked it needing a few sessions to judge the correct braking points, Back straight 135 mph down 2 gears in to a right hander took some practice!!

I've got good memories of that back straight at Goodwood.

A couple of years back I did a trackday in my uprated MGB.
Flat-out 110mph down the back straight, I lift to start braking and nothing happened, I was still accelarating.

The good old throttle linkage on the twin carbs had got stuck.

I made it through the corner, just proving I'd been going through there too slowly on previous laps.

That taught me you car has to be in top order before these type of events.

Brakes are not a problem! this is one of the reason I got the movit brakes, to be able to handle this kind of thing with no problems!

Hey guys...going to Bedford for a day out courtesy of a supplier.
Can anyone give me a link to a website that will tell me about the track ? Any pointers from peeps that have driven the track would be appreciated.

Thanx.
Andy.

search on Bedford Autodrome or Palmersport

best tip is to turn in later than you instinctively want to, and that you can get round the corner at the end of the straight at about 90 - honest!

GT1, GT2, GT3, Turbos, Ferraris (512s), TVRS, the works - some serious machinery!

Let's see how many I can upset!

Any ideas when the next trackday at Bedford is?

I'm kicking myself for not putting the car on track on the 30th and I think bedford would be the ideal track for a track virgin like me, even though brands hatch is 40mins away from me (yes I know about the imminent trackday at BH, but can't make it due to work )

I've heard goodwood is good (no pun intended ) for virgins as well, any ideas when/if a goodwood day is coming up.
