STOP PRESS!!!! Brands Track Day!!! Sunday Feb 24th!!!
#1
WHAT??? A track day at Brands Hatch Indy circuit on a Sunday? And only £120??? Only 25 places?? Are we mad???
It's true. The SIDC have teamed up with Easytrack and booked Brands Hatch on Sunday February 24th.
Places are strictly limited to 25 cars, so they're going to go fast! As always, there will be instructors on hand to offer free tuition.
You will be able to book online shortly in the SIDC shop (small surcharge), or you can send a cheque to the usual address.
Hope to see some of you there.
Stef.

cross posted from sidc.bbs, sorry Stef
Stef,
as you well know I'm a track virgin, but have spectated at the last two SIDC days @ BH. Is the easytrack day going to be in a similar vein to the SIDC ones?
Is it just going to be scoobs or other cars to play with?
open pitlane or sessions?
sorry for the 'thick son-of-bitch' questions, but you know what I'm like
If the brakes are fitted in time I might come out and play, but sod's law says the places will be gone by then.
Oh, and what's the deal with spectators? any charge? what about passenger laps? is there a charge? cos if I can't get on track I'll probably pop up to spectate.
thanks

stef?
It might just be me being a muppet, but can you clarify whether its on Sunday 24th FEBRUARY or Sun 24th MARCH.
There seems to be some confusion between the online shop at the SIDC website and this thread.

Chris, ahh, can see the confusion.
SIDC shop says March 24th, SIDC BBS says Feb 24th and easytrack site says Feb 24th.
So, which is it? Stef?
Due to the damage my car's just sustained (thread in general about it) I won't be on track on either date, but will, if it's alllow and free (or cheapish) be there in spectator, and possibly passenger capacity (if anyone has spare lid, can't afford one at the mo!)

Where were you all? Marcus from Easy track asked who was there from SIDC - must have been two of us.
Oh well - made the 330 bhp yellow evo look like it was going backwards in the wet - oops, that's my trumpet

Well, I was there, but only spectating. Rosco in his white Evo was there, a few others turned up later on and went for a blast.
We (the spectators) seemed to outnumber the scoobs on track!

I was in an MY00 DBM with low spoiler.
I'm unfairly picling on the evo (was that you?) because it had so much power. May have been taking it easy for all I know. It certainly wasn't taking it easy in the dry - had slicks on, and spun it round Graham Hill bend - great fun to watch, as others were taking it more gently.

I was there and enjoyed 2 sessions for £20.00 ...Best money ever spent..
I know the guy in the yellow evo and I can tell you he was talking it easy otherwise you wouldn't even been able to catch him
Oh and he was taking it easy because he cooked his brakes
Hmmmmm no Evo for me I think.....

just checked the thread on the SIDC bbs and the easytrack site and they both list 24th FEBRUARY as the date for the BH day. In which case i'll be there, but spectating only (if allowed!) as the brakes might not be fitted by then, and even if they are they won't be bedded in.
