Hi there
can anyone advise me on wether or not it is worth taking some additional fuel in cans up with me to Donington. I want to use Optimax but the closest Shell garage is about 10 mins away, not far I know.

I know not to fill the tank full as it may cause spillages on the track and not to let it run less than 1/4 empty, possibly suffering from fuel starvation on corners. What I need to know is how far will I get on approx 1/2 tank on a hard track day.

And If I do take some tanks of fuel how and where should it be stored.

Many thanks

Deane,

You should reckon on 8-10 mpg on track so work it out from there! Not far. Last time at Donnington I did a whole tank in the morning and the afternoon.

You should be able to store your fuel (if in appropriate containers, i.e jerry cans) in the garages in the pit lane. Useful if you have several people with you to keep an eye on it and your tools etc.
