I have been asked by a magazine to gather twenty Scoobs to take part in a track day whcih will also be attended by twenty Sunny GTi-R's, twenty Cossies and twenty Integrales! (What, no EVO's? )
It will take place on Thursday March 15th at Three Sisters circuit and will cost just £30!!!!
As always...first come, first served.

3 Sisters is at Wigan the home of the pie and is a great little circuit, they hold single venue rallys there and do test days. The track is tight and twisty and has every sort of corner and camber on it.

I used to compete in tarmac rallies at 3 sisters in me youth
I have also competed in sprints there a few of years ago in my manta and cossie.
Are you guys nuts? In no way is that place suitable for a track day full of quick cars.
There is NO run off, slippy as Hell from 2 stroke engine oil from the carts, has some really nasty cambers and corners that quite frankly are a ba$tard.
I wont be driving a car there on a track day, i can handle a rally or sprint there because it's againt the clock on your own, but a track day, NO FRIGGIN WAY GUYS!!!

I totally agree John
Stef.....whilst £30 sounds cheap enough you only get what you pay for.
Trying to accommodate 80 enthusiastic drivers on a cart track which takes about 45 seconds to lap. I can't imagine!
Great circuit though if its wet and you like driving sideways, so long as you don't mind the non existent run off areas and barriers.
You can do an entire lap in second and third gear only (UK Scoob).

I agree with John and Steve. I drove 3 Sisters on an early SIDC/Group B track day. Complete joke, best described as a go kart track. Single file all the way. No run off, poor surface. Not the place for performance cars.

It is a Kart track! Thats what it was built for!
This is me in my first ever rally car back in the late 80's at 3 sisters. I have always had unusual cars i suppose, this is a Hillman Imp with a 998cc race engine i built. I reved that to 11,000rpm. I bought the car for £50 and turned it into a seriously quick rally car. I used to Humble Metro 6R4's in that thing. I was a bit nuts back then.
The smoke is tyre smoke, thats how slippy this place is! sorry about the image size.

Look, if you oldies don't wanna come then don't but it's a bit of fun, that's all.
It won't be 80 cars razzing round together, it's more of a photo opportunity than anything else.
Bloody pensioners!

John your a whole 11 years older than me which makes you a Pensioner I suppose back in those days you had to drive a knacker due to the amount of mistakes you kept making LOL
Thats OK, you leave the fun to us and we may buy you a copy of the Magazine when its out so you don't waste your pension money LOL

I know three-sisters well, and was there only 3-4 months ago, they haven't done any major work. It is a great cart track, and fun in a car by yourself, but passing opportunities are virtually non-existant, too tight, twisty and narrow.
An F1 car would never manage on that circuit, you may be confusing it with the Aintree circuit (same website, same owners) that is a former GP cicuit, and I have seen F1 cars there. Have done a couple of track days at Aintree - that is great fun, only really 5 corners, and relatively simple, but safe and an absolute hoot. Great spectating circuit as almost 100% visible from near enough anywhere on the outfield

yep, she screemed alright! I used to get noise tested after every run and pass, they just couldnt understand how it was so loud on track. The noise test was done at 5000rpm, most cars red line at 7000rpm and just passed at 5K, mine red lined at 11,000 rpm! LOL
It was indeed a good laugh, i learned a huge amount about mechanics and driving with that car. The engine was all alloy, as was the box and it had fully independant suspension all round. The Imp technically is a huge step forward over the mini, shame it got a bad reputation for warped heads due to the chrysler garages not understanding the alloy engines. I still can't believe at times i used to do 120MPH down rally stages in that thing, i must have been completely mad.
The photos are before i discovered slicks, i am on yokohama road tyres. I have some amazing shots of me driving the car on Formula 3 slicks, front wheel about 12" in the air on full oposite lock.
I sold that car after coming 3rd in the championship in my first year of rallying and bought a Clan Crusader, now there's a story and a half!
