Just been informed ny Jane there that the local council are adamant on reducing the noise regs

If you trip the 98db meter which is situated near the start/finish straight AND at Goddards YOU WILL BE SENT HOME no arguments !!!!!!

Now from memory, even a lightly modded scoob with a backbox can measure circa 95dbs !!!!

Just thought I'd pass that on !

On a positive note Oulton Park are hosting many, many trackdays in October, November and December trailing off to £85

Regards

Chris

Si, if you visit www.track-action.co.uk you will see we have some excellent lower priced days at Oulton, they are all on Saturdays as well

Sod the noise levels they should do something about the traffic problems, 6 hours to get out after the Moto GP this year!! As said above, they must be kidding with a bloody airport next door.

Is absolutely ridiculous to impose such a low db noise. My other half at the last 2 days had to turn down the boost and not use full power

Fookin no good tree huggin *****

FFS they're smack bang next to the M1 and an intenational airport, where they **** do they get off? Besides that, the circuit has been there for bloody years, why shouldn't it be used, plus I thought the idea of tracks was to use them for things that we can't do on our roads....

It's about time the tree huggers were told to shut up

WELL Wy point is. (if your to thick to work it out) is that you cant complain about others NAMELY ME. Breaking the rules and expect the rules to be deemed unfair for you !!!!!!! Donnington have a problem with a nearby neighbor who complains about the noise all the time so they have to set some kind of limit. We all know about the planes overhead BUT they dont have to conform to local planning legislation do they.?? rules are rules whether we like them or not!! GOT IT NOW??????????

Chuck it seems you are missing the point again I am aware that rules are rules and people must conform to them, but it doesn't stop some rules being stupid and people having the right to moan about them... especially in this case with the constant noise from EM Airport.

Most people know where the sound recorders are at Dono ie the pit straight and by Starkey's Bridge [not Goddards Chris ] Drivers are lifting off at these points, but now the council are doing their own sound tests at random points round the circuit, so unless people make a concerted effort to reduce the db rate of their cars [like my husband did by turning down his boost for instance] Dono's future will be in doubt.

Perhaps the time has come for Dono to implement static noise tests before anyone gets on track, like they do at Bedford & Castle Coombe. Any car found to be borderline, does a drive-by with a Dono instructor in the car as well, to ensure that no 'lifting off' is done.

At the RSOC Nat Day back in August, the db level was strictly adhered to and it made the morning sessions a fiasco, because everytime a car exceeded the db noise, not only was the driver black-flagged, but the red flag came out too and everyone had to come in.

So you see chuck I do understand!!!

So this'll rule out all the bike days, general testing etc etc.

Dono's one of the few circuits that you go to and see GT cars, road cars and other race cars on track together.

Councils make great decisions sometimes - 1 complaint from some old coffin dodger who'll be dead soon anyway, or a great revenue stream where everyone (apart from coffin dodger is happy)

Shows they do care about old people I suppose

I wonder if the complaints are made because of noisy cars travelling through the neighbouring villages to fill up with fuel etc. Rather than the actual noise that they make on track.

That is the only sensible[1] explanation there could be; as obviously the official races that they have there, such as MotoGP, are much, much louder than your average trackday.

[1] Not that 'sensible' is a word that can often applied to any council decisions.

SIMON i think under the terms of thier planning consent they are allowed a certain number of noisey days the rest have to comply with the decibel limit!!

Question

If Donington has a neighbour who complains about the noise, he must of moved there recently. What dipstick buys a house near an airport and a race track if he wants peace and quiet, and I thiught I was bloody daft!!!
