BC Coilovers 'twanging'
Hey guys, had my coilovers fitted for around two years or so now and recently have noticed an occasional twang coming from what i guess is the springs on them. The noise seems to come from front and rear. All looks ok, but i did notice that the rubber sleeve over the piston part had moved up exposing the the piston on the drivers side front.
Any thing to worry about, any pointers ? Car is 2005 wrx 300.

Jacked mine up last night with the wheels off, everything looks ok.. Springs seats seem ok, all seems tight, nothing bent, just that a couple of the rubber sleeves over the piston has ridden up, should i be looking to secure them down to cover the whole lenght of the piston ?

check your drop links are tight.
had the exact same problem last week, sounds like spring twang and when I checked my droplinks had come ever so slightly loose..cranked em back up and twang now gone.
if you jacked the car up on stands the shock will be at its full lenght so the covers wont cover the entire piston. when its on the ground they will be covered.

even better still, strip them out one by one, clean the spherical bearings and lithium them all up.
another thing I have noticed on the BCs is the coating on the springs is **** and they are prone to corroding and sometimes the springs can split..cheap enough fix though.
