Are they sure they are leaking? They are an inverted shock that start to knock due to the grease used in the casing, its more like a wax. They can be dissassembled and repacked with normal grease and this cures the knock

some people just spray grease around casing without disassembling which cures it temporarily but leaves a mess looking like its leaking

Loads of better alternatives! As above, knocking is dried grease. What mileage is your car showing? O.E. shocks should be good for 50-60k at least, but the knocking comes at about 30K usually.

I've gone over to BC Coilovers on my Spec D and haven't looked back. Like night and day compared to the original rubbish.

Default new shocks

I've just had similar problems with my hawkeye wrx. The garage quoted me £400 each for mine. One of the sleves has rusted too.

Careful what you order. I ordered shocks and only got the centre sections so I think I'll have to go coil overs instead - not sure which though. Check your shock slieves/arms are in good nick if you only buy shocks.

Well, if you are interested we have a group buy running at the moment.
You will get a lot more for your money for sure, as 2 replacement damper is almost the price of the full suspension kit already.

Try Euro car parts http://www.eurocarparts.com

They sell genuine Subaru fitted KYB gold shocks that go on the STi spec d

The show as non in stock, best to call them, they are very cheap too Euro Car parts

i just fitted a set to my Spec D, and they are night n day compared to the STI shocks. far more compliant with UK roads

and compliment the Eibach springs far better than the STI shocks did
