Discovered a knocking coming from the front of my 2003 Sti when pulling away slowly from stationary or reversing. I can't replicate the noise at all when driving normally.

On further investigation found that when I push down the front on each side I could feel a 'knock' from the top hat on each suspension leg.

Does this mean new shocks or could it something else? If new shocks required, which ones? The car is not used on track.
