As per title, I want some info on both sets of springs ie drop, stiffness and experiences with both types, plus a rough idea of prices.

Eibachs- drop = next to nowt!!, but car definitely handles better with hardly any difference in ride quality. I've had no experience with spax , but i've heard the ride is quite harsh.
I'm running H+R springs now, lower car by about 40mm, handle as good as eibachs but ride slightly firmer.
Cheers
Mark
PS:- All my own opinion, others may beg to differ!!!

I would recommnd the Eibachs as they do drop by about 20mm in time and the ride quality is harldy changed but the improvement in handling is quite noticable.
Bear in mind that these springs work well with the standard dampers and I would expect springs that drop the car further to start to be a compromise in pure handling terms as the dampers will not be operating over the ramge that they were designed to.....

Anyone else got any information/thoughts on this ??
I know that the Eibachs are the tried and trusted methed and it was always my plan to fit these, but I would like for the car to be about 30mm lower so I am looking at other alternatives.

If you want to drop the car further without destroying the handling then you should probably think about replacing the dampers as well as the springs.
In this case, I would think about putting the new Billies on......

The eobachs do visibly lower the car, i didn't notice how much until i parked next to a standard MY00 on Sunday.
Ride quality is just a bit firmer than standard, but not too harsh.

IanW,
The Eibach progressive spring rate is from what I've read, apparently going from softer to harder than standard MY 99-00 springs which leads me to believe that one might lose some initial steering response. I.e. does it make the steering less responsive around centre? And does it roll more than standard when cornering at low speeds, before they get progressively stiffer, meaning that it will only roll less than standard once cornering speed gets high??
Many people claim that ride has become better/smoother after changing to Eibachs, and to me this can only mean that they are (initially) softer, but I really don't want/need any softer than standard....
Simen.

I know people say they are softer at low speed but I thought that changing to Eibachs made for a slighty harder ride at all speeds.
No loss of steering around centre (improved if anything) and less roll at all speeds (IMHO )
I would recommend Eibachs to anyone and everyone with zero reservations....

I'm in the same boat m8, want a lower looking car but don't want to ruin the handling.
Keep us posted on things when you get your eibachs fitted, are you going to do a centre cap to top of the arch measurement before and after?
Hope you like em

Good idea John, I'll do that.
I'm also getting the geometry setup (prodrive type settings) and time allowing, I'll get the bumpsteer mod done too

Yeah I was thinking that, they should have settled down comletely.
Also, they were on a 4 door but are going onto my wagon which is a little bit heavier, so they may drop a little further still

Yep they are on, the difference in height is noticable but not significant. But coupled to the bumpsteer mod and geometry set up the handling difference is amazing
