Any issues replacing just rear shocks (with KYB Ultra SR)
The n/s/r shock on my 2005 WRX is knocking and has been for quite a while. I have decided to replace the shocks and will be going for the KYB Ultra SR's as I think these will work better with the Prodrive springs I have and also give me a better set up (over the KYB Excel G's) however are there any issues with just upgrading the rears?

I did same job on my 05 STI,handling felt all wrong, maybe it was because I only changed rears???,anyway,I gave it 3 weeks then bit the bullet and got BC coilovers,I have still got the KYB shocks but they are for the 114.3 pcd STI,s only

Bit late, but I've read that Ultra SR's fail almost as often; seems as though KYB have a design fault and can't be arsed fixing it.
Shame really, given the engine of the later blobs was one of the strongest of the newage!
Re BC's - be very very wary. I went from OEM shocks and prodrive springs on my old bug WRX to a set of BC's.
Whilst the damping was much improved, the ride on anything other than smooth tarmac was a little bumpy, and out in the country where my folks live, and where there are some very patchy areas, it was utterly horrific.
Personally, I would rather live with the knocking than go back to the wretched banging and crashing you get with the coilovers; they're just not good enough for daily driving, especially if you want to go quick down a B road that's patchy - the steering gets jerked a lot due to all the bumps, reducing your confidence and ability to go quick - you'll be quicker on the OEM items - IMHO.
