The only things shared by classics and Newage cars is the badge...You could ask will 94 BMW shocks fit a 2006 Fiat ducato and have the same chances....

No, seriously, the Classics and New Age are different underneath as the whole car was new for the 2001 model year. All New age cars 2001-2007 are sort of interchangeable underneath as are all classics but not between.

The exception is if you have aftermarket coilovers, etc but you do need to swap mountings.

Sorry to disappoint.

Not quite right.

You can bolt Classic struts to New Age and vice versa however there are some critical differences.

The lower clevis will bolt up the same on Classics and New Agers. However the lateral position of the holes is different between, GC, GG and GD. The rear top mounts are different between Classic, Bug and blob/Hawk. Front top mounts are the same (some minor changes in rubber durometer) though the hole orientation is a bit different between classic and new age. The new age holes are rotated a few degrees compared to their position on a Classic. The front spring perch on a Classic strut is higher than on a New Age. Using a Classic rear strut on a GD/GG will result in a massive amount of negative camber ( more than -2 deg) due to the position of the clevis holes.

So to answer your question, you can install the 94 rear springs and struts on a bug eye (if you use the bug eye rear top hat) however, you will have massive rear camber and, if I recall correctly, a bit of a saggy butt. You can even use the springs, but they are not even close to ideal.

Stay with bug eye springs (though there are very few options for anything good).

Fortunately Bug Eyes have all the aftermarket strut options available (AGX, DSpec, Koni) that fit its rear top hat. The 04+ blob/Hawkeye only have Koni and I think Öhlins. Problem is, bug eye don't have any decent springs worth using except for STi V7 springs. I used to like Prodrive blue springs but have come to realize they are pretty much an aesthetic lowering spring and not much of a performance spring. Still way better than STechs but not as good as what you can find in the later model year cars. But in order to use those springs you need to use the newer rear tophat (which isn't directly compatible with bug eye type struts). However, you can use bug eye compatible struts if you use a washer on the upper spigot of the strut. Search "Scooby 921 Spacer".
