Anyone tried HSD coilovers ?
http://www.hsdcoilovers.com/
hunting for new suspension for my 2005 Sti (widetrack) 114pcd, came accross these,
Was looking for some kyb ultra SR's and some Eibach springs etc but seems very hard to get any shocks for any blobs other than the 2003/2004, dono if coilovers are really an option or are going to be too hard for our totaly CRAP UK roads,
I currently comute 35 odd miles each way every day... (wich at present is very bouncy and clonky!)
loved my old classic setup of std shocks /eibach (P1) springs and whiteline bits..

I had the same problem with my 54 blob. You can't get kybs for the 114 widetrack blobs or hawkeyes even though the stock suspension is made by KYB.
Coilovers are the only option. I bought apex coilovers and sold them and the car before i had chance to fit them. I decided that suspension wasn't something to try save on. if i had kept the car i would have gone for KWs or tein. Looked at HSD and they looked good but I don;t know anyone with them.

i have the monopro on my hawkeye.bought them from a time attack car.they are set at 12 clicks out of the 16.do seem a tad hard but,a good hard if that makes sense.think im going to back them off all the way and work up till i find its right for me.one of my mechanic friends took it for an mot and absolutely loved the ride

Hi Craig
We are running HSD HR on our wagon and must admit they're firmer than I would expect from them, for track or B-Roads they're awesome, but on smooth roads are little bit harsh
Second bit which can surprise to you, damping adjustment is on the bottom of the shock and if you want adjust them, you will need go underneath the car, this is biggest minus on them

Yes you can set them to softest setting, but on the track you want to have slightly harder settings(possibly hardest)

I've tried only twice BC BR series on the friend car and we are been impressed with them
HSD HR are not bad coilovers and if they're set correctly they will perform nicely,as many guys use them on the drift cars.We are have set ours on the almost hardest setting and we are never have set them to soft(maybe later on we will set them, but at moment not sure if I would set them to soft, when car feels awesome on the road and on the track)
If I would go again with the coilovers and knowing what I know now about the damping adjustment, probably I would choose probably different make(KW or Nitron),but at moment we are happy with the setup
Really depends what you want from coilovers and if you have set budget for coilovers
