Weird Clicking Suspension Help?

Weird Clicking Suspension Help?
Hey lads, another suspension question!
I have a wierd click noise coming from the front right suspension of the car, whenever I go over a speedbump or a bump, pothole in the road, I get a very audible Click (almost like a loud clicking of a pen)
Has anyone any idea what this could be, mechanic said ohhh sounds like metal that could be cracked and the click is the 2 pieces separating and coming back together??
Will be jacking it up on a ramp tomorrow but want to see if anyone has any clues tonight?
Its a 98 STi
Any ideas?

hi, i have the same noise, a few clicks when pulling off or coming to a halt. i,ve changed the drop links but that,s not fixed it, maybe i should take the front bar off and grease the bushes. hope it,s not a strut as my bc coilovers are not very old lol
