Whiteline ARB Fitting
Right, I am going to attempt to fit the 22mm non adjustable rear ARB I bought. I have a question before I goof it up totally; I need to know whether I can do the whole job with the rear wheels on ramps?
Also, I have some Perrin rear solid endlinks, I am waiting on a company to tell me how much it will be to replace the bushes as they never came with any! The question is, is it easy enough to fit these as well,(it will be after the rear ARB is fitted)
Any little gems of info for fitting both?
Many thanks
Myles

Hi Myles
It is actually easier to fit the ARB with the weight on the axle anyway as it keeps the angles of the droplinks etc straight making it easier to get the bolts in and out.
Droplinks are also a doddle to fit, again do this with the weight of the car on the wheels. This will become apparent once you have fitted the ARB.
Thanks
Keith

Wish me luck!
As an aside, do you stock the Perrin endlinks? The solid rears I have didnt come with the red bushes, and Im chasing a few companies to get some more.

Unfortunately we do not sell Perrin parts so can't help on that one I'm afraid.
If you get stuck while fitting the ARB just give me a bell.
Thanks

Thanks for all your help guys, it took longer to get the ARB out of its packaging than to fit it!! A good glob of WD40s prodigal son.......
and the nuts and bolts were dead easy to undo (sure there are no copyright issues with that stuff?)
Good glob of grease where the bushes go and away we go. Here it is..
The roll bar is greasy, I know, Im off to clean it up. Whiteline need to spend a little more on paint though, it isnt great!
Thanks again, off to test it now.
Edited to add: I found that so easy I feel confident now. Time to do my own mapping!! (joke)

Can't believe you didn't research fitting before you bid and purchased it?
Only messing mate Do you notice any difference? How bad is the paint on yours? When I contacted Rich about the mix up with the part numbers he told me there was a problem with my bar and he had to have one shipped from Whiteline UK direct to me and I have a feeling it's one of the ones with slightly better paint. Although I cannot be sure. I put two coats of wheel wax on it to try and protect it. I'm sad............

What is wrong with yours then? The paint on mine has flakes in a couple of places, but apart from that I feel less body roll. It will be even better when I fit my Perrin rear endlinks.

I'm not sure what the problem was as it was resolved by Rich before it was couriered out to me so have no idea what was wrong. The paint on mine looks OK, no chips or anything. I'll have to wait and see how it holds up. Apparently the non-adjustable bars have a default setting that is the same as the 'medium' setting on the adjustable models.

When I said about the paint, it is really only on the parts that have scuffed against anything.
Keep me up to date on how you find it!

hi.... i have 22mm front and rear whiteline arb's with anti lift kit and eibach springs...... corners like its on rails 54 uk sti
word of warning tho !
local tuner told me it would be better if i put the rear on hard setting as opposed to middle setting and it handled like a bag of w@nk
normal grip levels resumed now its on the middle hole again...
not all tuners know their stuff

You like yours that way, and that's the important thing. The adjustability is great though for fine tuning

ARB sizing and settings can be an individual thing. One may like a stiff rear (he we go again ) and another softer. Many say rear 22mm only for the Type R. I have a 22f & 24r set on max stiff front and middle rear and can't imagine it any other way now

i agree mate
with it set harder on the rear .... it always felt like it was gonna let go, can push it really hard with the way it is set, i have the powerstation stage 2 set up and geometry and they obviously did their research
in fact the more i press the loud pedal round a bend the more it wants to grip
