Default light steering

I have changed the rear drop links on the car ,and i think it feels a little more planted at the rear but the front seems to feel light.
If i hold the steering wheel and move it left and right it feels light an inch either way then after that feels tighter(the wheels still move even in the light bit)
I know i will need to book it in to have the geo set up but I would like to have alook and see if i can see anything.
Are there any commen things to look out for?
Also hows the best way to check it?(bearing in mind I will have it jacked up on axle stands)

thanks in advance Jason

It sounds more like wear and tear, maybe a little play in the rack (hence the quicker you go the worse it feels), though the Uk cars do have over sensitive power steering.

The cars a JDM but it does seem to get lighter the quicker it goes.Is there a repair that can be done or would it mean a new streering rack???
