I'm getting fed up of having knocking struts replaced on my car. The rears were replaced in April last year and now they (and one of the front ones) are knocking again. In total the car has had three replacement pairs from new. And is now out of warranty so if I need any more, I'll be paying.

I'm quite happy with the ride quality of the WRX (mine has Prodrive springs and 18" wheels but is otherwise standard. So I don't want anything too hardcore. I've no intention of using the cars for track days.

Also, don't want to spend a fortune so have been looking at BC Racing coilovers. I have three questions :

- will they destroy the ride of my car?
- will they last any longer than the Scooby struts before the start banging and thumping?
- how much is it likely to cost me to get them fitted?

Oh - and I was also thinking about Tein SS units with the remote electronic adjusters. Any thoughts about them?
