I have an 02 wagon with 120k which is my wife's daily driver, I am sure the shocks are original and offer very little damping and the rear springs seem too hard.

I will be upgrading the rear droplinks and ARB but want to get your opinion on whether I should go for KYB excel or ultra shocks (and possibly new springs) or a Tein coilover on a low setting.

I am not looking for go kart handling just better comfort and the ability to push it on occasion.

Tein are little bit hard for UK road,KYB are good as OEM,KW are good,but pricey and have good reputation...
