MY05 STI Shocks
I'm just buying some prodrive springs for my MY05 STI with PCD 114.3mm.
Don't want to get them though if I cannot replace the shocks.... I'm having problems finding some that fit my car. I've checked the KYB and KONI shocks but neither do some to fit an 05 blobeye. They have some that fit an 06 Hawkeye which also has a PCD of 114.3mm.
What are my options, does anyone sell them? I'd prefer not to get coilovers.

Not that it's needed any more.
Subaru UK have just confirmed that the part number for MY05 Blobeye STI shockers is the same as the ones for MY06 Hawkeye STIs
That makes life far more easy now, can start spending money again

Didn't really make things much easier. Turns out KYB and KONI haven't made after market shocks for the Hawkeye either. Both only supply shocks upto 2004.
Also Subaru UK no longer supply Prodrive springs for 2005-07 models either. There are some around on the web if you really want them.
Subaru UK quoted £360 per shock... no chance.
I don't really need them yet but I didn't want to spend on springs if I have to buy coilovers when the shocks go, may as well just buy coilovers now so I'll probably be looking for some after winter.

I recently replaced the rear shocks on the girlfriend's MY05 STi with a set of KYB SR. I got them from Camskills. When I rang them they told me they didn't stock them for 05 STi models but I had found a thread (cant remember if it was Scoobynet of Scooby Ireland) from an owner who had bought them for his 05 model from Camskills. After some further checking they sold me the rear shocks! Not sure if replacement front shocks are available from KYB, although the fronts seem to last longer.

I would prefer to have the option of aftermarket shocks so I can buy the prodrive springs but it doesn't look likely. I'll have another search about but this is the response I got from KYB last week.
What he says suggests that some have the same shocks as pre 2005 models but Subaru checked the parts based on my VIN number and came up with the more expensive Hawkeye shocks

Currently our listings on the Impreza range only go up to January 2004. Although we are the OE supplier on the later models these parts are not yet available as an aftermarket replacement. For vehicles after that build date we ask for the OEM part number off the old unit so that we can check whether it goes across to the earlier shock. We have found in the past that the newer models occasionally have the older units fitted. We can only match up off the OEM part number and not by measurement. If you can send me the numbers I will have a look for you. If we are unable to match them you will most likely have to obtain parts from the dealer or possibly via a specialist on the internet.

From what I can gather Eibach made the springs for Prodrive and new Eibach Pro Sping Kits are available for 2005 STi models for about £250.
The front shocks on the cars dont seem to give nearly as much hassle as the rear shocks. I would consider trying to source some rear shocks (I'm assuming your shocks are already knocking). Camskills did supply me with rear KYB shocks for the girlfriend's 2005 STi. Perhaps there was a change in suspension during the model year?

I can't track down any prodrive springs anywhere. subaru uk are out, prodrive are out and the only other uk supplier also has no stock left. alyn at asperformance told me about the new eibach kit for MY05. not sure about it though, not exactly cheap and only lowers 10mm which may not lower enough for the handling improvements i'm after.
a set of springs plus shockers if i could find some wouldn't be far off a set of BCs or HSDs so looks like i'll be going down the coilover route. thanks anyway.

I had a similar problem to you a few months ago with my MY05 (same colour as yours...snap!). I already had Stage 1 Whiteline upgrades but wanted the car lower and to sharpen up the handling still further.
I didn't see the point of fitting lowering springs because when you factor in a proper geo set-up the cost isnt far from coilovers. I went for BC's from Scoobyworld and haven't looked back - dropped the car about 30mm all round and it looks great on standard wheels.

What's the ride quality like on the BC coilovers. I use my car everyday and while the standard STi isn't exactly plush I wouldn't want to go down the coilover route if I was going to have to get friendly with the local chiropractor.

I've sorted my problem. Decided to go for some Apex coilovers which are basically BCs rebranded. Got them at the offer price of £509.45 so a big saving on the BCs.
Also ordered the rear adjustable mounts so I can get a proper fast road alignment done.
On a spring rate of 6/5 they should be very similar to STI shocks and springs on the lowest damper setting. From there you just tweak until you're happy
