Clunking noise from rear of car!
Hi everyone,
I'm new on here, this is my 1st post, so please go easy on me.
Just picked up a GB270 and there is a slow speed clunking noise from the rear on uneven roads (disappears when on motorways).
I assume this is the common strut fault?
The car is still under Subaru warranty, so hopefully will be replaced without fuss! Has anyone had any issues with Subaru warranty?
Fantastic car though! I traded down from a 996 Turbo, and can have just about as much fun in the Subaru, for a quarter of the price (and it sounds better!).
Thanks
Richard

Thanks.
It's more of a loud rattle, initially I thought that something was loose in the boot, but took everything out and it was still the same. If anything it sounds like the near side, but could be both.
Sounds like the exhaust is loose, but I have checked it and the hangers at it looks ok.
Thanks for the help.

Hmmm, it would be the correct side for the buggered strut problem, but as for the type of noise, I'm not sure... my knackered one doesnt sound like that!
Still, its under warranty so I'm sure they'll sort you out :-)

Mine lasted 11k, then replaced under warranty. Just turned 31k and the replacements are holding up okay. The only issue I had was a reluctance to replace both. IM eventually agreed to replace both as I insisted I could occasionally hear a knock from the other side.
Best of luck and welcome to SN. Bob
