Default BC Coilover knocking

I had BR series coilovers fitted to my blobeye WRX after an original front shock failed. I'm really happy with how they transformed the handling. They have however knocked from day 1 on both rears. It can be so bad over certain bumps it makes me cringe. I had a trusted mechanic look at them and he couldn't find a fault. He did tighten the springs down slightly but that made no difference I kept my original rear shocks, if i get the rubber top mounts off these fitted am i guaranteed to stop the knocking?

You can use the OEM top mounts from a MY03-04 with the BC's but you need to get new springs from BC which have a wider diameter at the top.

For a MY01-02 you need new springs and new MY03-04 OEM style top mounts from BC. This is because the OEM top mounts on a MY01-02 are a different design.

I've just fitted the new springs & OEM style top mounts to my MY02 STI and it's completely fixed the knocking / clonking over bumps & potholes.

Regards, Mark

Is it actually the suspension? or is it the bushes? I know mine knocked before going to the BCs and still does it.

If you give us a call on 01274 683633 we can go through a few things to establish if there is a problem with the coilovers or not.

Why don't you just give Ann or Bren a call and sort it out once and for all.
