Default Are my shocks in good condition?

They're standard and can only assume are as old as the car (13 years) and I think i've got GMAX springs on there at the minute which were on when I bought the car... but i'm thinking about fitting a set of Eibach springs so the ride is alittle better.

So i'm needing to establish if they're in good nick before I change the springs incase I go to the expense of getting decent springs when my shocks are knacked... what checks can I do?

The car runs on 18" alloy wheels at present, what else can I do to give a less harsh ride other than change the springs and change to 17's?

I dont want to get coilovers, as they'll mean a harsher ride... the car will never go to the track either.

Currently there is a knock from the rear of the car, but I believe thats the bushes/links or something as it came up on the MOT last time round... or am I wrong?

Thanks

So standard shocks on a decent set of springs will be a harsher ride than coilovers?

... i've always thought it was vice versa (me never having owned coilovers like)

What would you recommend mate?

Thanks

You can get different spring rates for the coilovers to make your ride how you want. Also they are all generally adjustable from soft to hard.

Check for any leaks under the rubber cover. When my rear shocker failed it was pissing hydraulic fluid out
