Default Coilover installation guide

As above - does anyone have any links to good 'how-to' guides for installing coilovers? I've bought some Tein Superstreets and will be fitting them over the weekend. Comfortable with the removal and installation - but how do I set the camber and height to be similar?

Will it be blazingly obvious once I got the new and old struts side by side? I have some help - but as usual, always better to go into battle with a plan

I'm having a full geo setup later at TrackTorque but need the car to be running for Monday.

Lee use iphone on a straight edge to set camber....

One cheap trick is to swap the front top mounts L to R as you can then add lots of castor....

John Felstead runs -1.8 F, -1.6 R and 0.5mm F toe-in + parallel rear toe.

I added rear camber bolts to get my rear tyres clear of the arches... yours should be o.k.

If "we" get the ride height std. the toe should remain o.k.

P.S. Do you want to go "aggressive" on the set-up ? Or is tyre wear an issue ?

good luck with the fitting Lee, would have liked the opportunity to see you carry out the work. always something new to learn.

P.S Don't forget to close the bonnet fully once you are finished

I fitted Tein Flex to my bug, all I can say is go through the height setting guide a couple of times. The best way of getting the angles sorted is a full four wheel alignment, especially if you fit rear camber bolts. I accept that the I-phone can do the measurements but the 4 wheel alignment will ensure that the front and rear are set right in relation to each other which the I-phone cannot.

In bag (wonder if it was the reason the bonnet popped open?!)

Oh - my iPhone is buggered too, so no chance of using that!

Don't want to be majorly aggressive - I do a lot of road miles per month and don't want to be fighting the car all the time. Likewise, I don't want to be ripping my tyres to shreds too.

Rear camber bolts not going on - but I am having the car over to Track Torque later in the week for the full geo

Did you not hear me by your house this morning (about 8.45 ).

Yes - we got the coilovers done in about 2 hours (with lots of talking, looking at shiny bits on the car etc).

Improvement? Oh yes! Hoping to get brakes sorted on Tuesday/Wednesday (don't ask... ).

I have a free weekend next week if you fancy a ride out somewhere? Take you out in it for a run
