Default Classic fitting help needed

Ive purchased as full set of KYB adjustable shocks and springs for my sti 2 and cant get the rears to fit. Me and a mate tried to fit them on my drive way to no avail, the rear shocks appear to be too long. Ive checked that the part numbers are right so thats not the problem. Any ideas?

No mate, shocks and springs, not coilovers. When i say they are 3 inches or so taller, thats from the red bottoms of the shock to the top were the nut screws on.
