Rear top mounts buggered but will I notice the difference?

Rear top mounts buggered but will I notice the difference?
I put the Scooby in for a 40k service today and as I thought the knocking sound from the rear is the good ol' top mount problem. I'm sure I've had this knocking for well over 20k so my question is when I get this fixed will I notice the difference in the handling department or will it just be placebo?
