Default Another Arb related Thread.

Hello.

I am currently in the process of drawing up a price list for the scoob.

Been reading alot about uprating the Arbs, however there seems to be so many differences.

its a my98sti and its bought for light track use. It still has to be drivable on the road.

The safe option seems to be the 22mm rear arb. I hear it should make a difference enough to justify it on the max setting.

The non safe option being the 24. and 22 on the front. Lost of people report this makes a massive difference and should only really be considered for track use only. However others seem to think its acceptable for the road too?

Yes i want it nice to drive esp on the track. but i will also need to drive there and back in it.

so then. whiteline 22 or 22n24?

I shall also be uprating the droplinks (whiteline again?) and probably an ALK n camber adjust bolts. I have done no reasearch into the latter yet.

Advice eagerly awaited!

(this place needs sticky threads n definitive guides!)

I have the 24mm rear, on the softest setting and it's made a great difference! It's perfect on the road, not too much at all.
Im fitting a 22mm front soon, so looking to set the rear to the middle setting then.

Ok.

24 rear and 22 front it is then. I wasnt sure how much of a difference the settings make.

Any other opinions?

Sounds good for track use and should be ok for the road. Apparently adjusting them makes a big difference, so make sure you get adjustable ones.

I've got a 22mm on the rear only, on the middle setting and might move it to the stiffest (currently road use only).

If you have alloy front arms you dont need them on the front.

Worth it on the rear.

I've just finished fitting Eibach 24mm to mine (along with White line Alloy D/Links). Did the rear a day or two ago and it made a massive difference but because i'd not done the front it really did make the back off oversteer an inherent worry in the damp conditions.... great fun round low(ish) speed roundabouts but on my little back lane test track i was very wary that high speed corners could cause a serious **** out brown pants moment!

Today I did the front ARB and the car is back to being totally stable and a real go-kart feel to it. Granted in the wet it might be a little more prone to sliding about a bit but it now feels much more down to tyre pressures/tyre quality.

Anyway thought i'd throw that all in to this thread seeing as i litterally only just cleaned the oil off my hands! (thought it rude not to do a Wynns engine flush and change the oil while i was under the front for so long!).

Can't recomend this mod enough though!
