Default Teins or Eibach?

Im going to fit some lowering springs to my 95 wrx ra but cant decide on which ones. Have read good things about the tein s-techs and eibach pro kit. Has anyone got these springs fitted to their cars and have any pics so i can see what the ride height looks like? Thanks for any help.

I know people who have had both, but not had them myself, the Teins give an awesome lowering, but are reckoned to take the car a bit too low, harming the geometry, it will still corner better than stock though.

The Eibachs don't lower the car as much, arn't quite as stiff, but handle better.

hey, i have just has tein fitted to my bugeye wrx, and i am soooo impressed !! they are 100 % better than standard equipment mate.

the springs on mine are 25mm rear and 40mm front, but i think they are lower than this, but i am running on 18s so its not too much of a problem, the ride is hard but not uncomfortable, but the handling is grrreat !!.

i would recommend tein to anyone mate.

hope this helps.

lsm, just looked at photos of your scoob. Were they taken before or after you had the teins fitted? Dont know about anyone else but my car doesnt sit too bad at the rear but sits well high at the front.

From his my scooby description:-
car has been lowered since pics

As I said, before, from riding in both, the eibachs give better ride and the handling seemed nicer, the teins look great and handle better than stock by a margin, the choice then is personal!

One thing that i have noticed about my suspension is that on the shocks it has prodrive written on them which are made by bilstein. They also have the sti logo on them. Is this standard on ra's or has my suspension been upgraded therefore it is already lowered??? Anybody know?

exactly the same problem for me at the moment (Mealbhan if you read this yes mate I still havn't made my mind up)

I was all for the teins until this saturday went to interpro in gloucs/bristol for a power run, got talking about suspension, mentioned I was planning on teins and they were like no way that will ruin your car, unless you're going for a set of coilovers then eibachs are the way to go. Other than this they didn't give me any other reasons why but it has got me thinking again.

I like the way that teins make the car sit, however handling is the key.

has anyone done back to back tests?

Yeah im really pulling my hair out on this one. Im worried if i fit the eibachs it wont lower the car atall and if i fit the teins it will lower it too much. I live in devon and the roads are really crap here. To be honest im not worried about the handling cause i dont drive it that hard, im more concerned about the ride height. If anyone has more pics of their classics lowered on 17s it would be a great help for me on deciding what im gona go for. thanks.

i'm of the understanding that eibachs lower 35mm all round, and the teins lower 40mm at the front and 25mm at the rear

YOu say you want lowering, if so get the Teins. If you think you want lowering but what you really want is to be able to hammer around the back roads then get the Eibachs. I run KYB dampers, Eibach springs and a pile of Whiteline knick-knacks, and you would not believe the pace you can go at across the Suffolk single track roads. TBH round here you couldn't go too low anyway, you'd be hitting the bump stops the whole time.

if you lower the ride height to much and keep with standard shocks would the shock still work correctly...

I have fitted my Teins yesterday. It took me 3 hrs on the driveway but I have done it a few times before. It's a doddle now.
As for spring compressors.....you don't need them. The springs are not under any tension when the struts are off the car. Even with the shorter springs that I took off there was very little tension on the top nut and compressors not required.

Ive gona go for the teins because i think they will give me the ride height im after. Hey bob have u got any pics of your car lowered on your new teins?
I reckon 3 hours labour plus vat at my local garage is gona be about £110. Think i may have a crack at doing it myself.

What heights have you got them set at? I'm having mine fitted thursday and was just wondering, I'm running on 18" PFF7's by the way if it makes any difference...
