Suspension upgrades, what's recommended?

Default Suspension upgrades, what's recommended?

Gonna splash the cash on the STi. The struts are knocking again and being out of warranty i'm going to go for the ASTs.

Are there any other "smaller" mods that would make differences and add to the overall package?

I have the ALK and Rear ARB.

I was thinking:

- ASTs
- Front H Brace
- Front ARB
- Perrin Subframe lockdown

Anything else?

Not convinced about droplinks.

I have the AST package on mine complete with front & rear arb's, rear droplinks, anti-lift kit and adjustable front top mounts.

Did you have the rear ARB first, then add the front?

I've got that setup now and i like the handling. I was just concerned with adding the front bar, that it may introduce the understeer.

I suppose you could stiffen up the rear, when adding the front.



No-one has any suggestions for further mods?

Poly bushes? Steering mod (something i read a bit but not sure what's involved)

Is the rear strut brace worth adding?

I did this, rear first, then ALK and front bar, and it calmed down the oversteer caused by the rear ARB, and increased the grip all round.

My H-brace made little difference, but I was using R888's.

On a wet track, on tired tyres I did find some sudden issues with understeer.... a bit of paint and a wheel arch liner later ! But not on the road.

wELL WORTH IT IMHO.

P.S. Steering rack poly bushes are supposed to help too !

I did the rear arb and anti-lift kit 1st, then went and fitted the front arb with the AST.

Have since replaced the rear with a thicker arb to balance things up again.

One of my front droplinks let go, so I went solid
Mine were ball type and the cup came off

Proper geometry set up is worth more than any bolt on goodies IMO.

Did you try setting the rear one to the stiffest first? Before upgrading.

It will be having that done, but there's no harm in getting a few bits n' bobs done at the same time.

Speak to Paul at Zen - he has some fantastic knowledge in modifications to improve the suspension beyond the std bolt on bits that are well worth doing. they transformed mine.

ARB's will help but don't be in a hurry to put the Anti Dive kit on

originally had a 22mm adjustable on stiffest setting, replaced with 24mm adjustable.
