Question

Reading a few posts rating how good these springs are (for the money) and that they work well with standard dampers on late cars.

Is there anyone in the South East area that can supply and fit these?

Thumbs up

John

I asked this question quite a while ago now and the only place that was recommended (by a few people) was Elite in Rainham.

A little bit of a trek, I know, but I went to Powerstation in Cheltenham. Worth the trip, because the guys know what they are doing. My car (MY01) feels (and handles) a lot better after having the Eibach and geometry settings done.

I had springs and geom done at Elite last year. Couldn't fault the service but they are a bit more expensive than most. Around £350 from memory. Well worth having done tho.

Blimey Powerstations mile away

I don't want to drive that far, I'm not 100% keen on Elite as I used to get bits for my Golf from them, always found them expensive.

Question

Matt,

Did you have eibachs fitted at the same time as having the bumpsteer done?

Get your Eibachs from the cheapest place you can find and get them fitted at a local independant garage. I got the springs for £100 (mail order) and had them fitted locally for £80. I still had to pay Elite £60 for the geometry though but I don't know of anywhere else cheaper.

Where did you get springs for £100?
Sounds very cheap!

Slighlty off topic - sorry! But, what kind of insurance hikes are people seeing for fitting Eibachs? I am tempted!

Matt,

I had the bumpsteer fitted last Feb (remember the day you had a Power run afer fitting your full SS) with Geom. I then had Eibachs and the Anti-Lift (+Geo (again)) fitted at the start of October. I know it costs more but this way at least I know what difference the Bump Steer alone makes and how much more "feel" the Eibachs and Anti-Lift give you

mega_stream,

Why not? It's a great drive (A40 rocks!!! ) and Powerstation are the boys!!!! You won't regret it!!!!!!

Mo,

You can get the Eibachs fitted anywhere but I would go to Powerstation to get the Geometry setup properly, I wouldn't trust this to whoever can do it for the cheapest - after all, you want you car to handle as good as possible don't you?

Boost II,

I'm with Greenlight and they added these onto my policy for no extra cost

(all above obviously IMHO )

Matt,

if you know what settings you want your geometry set to then you can have this done anywhere that has a decent four wheel alignment facility. There's plenty around, Elite Xtreme etc. etc.

PowerStation are a must for bumpsteer removal but I don't see why you need to return for geometry set-up.

Regarding the cost of my Eibachs, this was some two years back I don't know how much they are now.

TSL Motorsport

A little drive to Nottingham but the Guys are good and it gives you a chance to really test it on the way home
