Default I now know what a knackered wheel bearing sounds like..

If you have a squeak from one of your wheels, and someone tells you that it is the opposite wheel bearing that is warn, change it.

By the time you hear the droning, and feel the play it really will knacker the stub axle.

Did the brakes go funny? Only way we found Mrs spec'C's failing bearing was the pedal kept dropping at low speeds.

Yep, after a while the pedal dropped, then you had a brown trouser moment, then it was okay.

I think the previous owner felt some play, then rather than change it for about £150, they just done the hubnut upto FT to take the play out. It worked okay for about 10k.

Luckily HDC have got me a hub for a good price, Subaru want £200!!
