Default Adjustable Top Mounts

I'm looking for a fast road suspension upgrade to my sti 6, somewhere along the lines of:

New springs
Front and Rear ARB
Droplinks
Antil lift kit
Full Geometry set up

Do I need Adjustable top mounts as well or are they a 'nice to have'??

IMHO:
You have the right shpping list.
iirc there are no top mounts to match the front stock suspension struts that do not affect the front ride height.
I stand to be corrected.
To kill understeeer in the dry you need to max the caster. Noltec top mounts are good, the new Whitelines are very very nice too.

Ask Geo (aka Cusco Kid) for parts.

Ok thanks 911. Will I be able to 'max the castor' as you describe with the standard sti suspension?

No.
There is no adjustment whatsoever on the stock suspension for caster.
The ALK adds caster by moving the position of the lower wishbone fulcrum bearing. This is partly why the Whiteline ALK is so popular.

would you get more Castor with having adjustable top mounts than fitting a ALK?

Yes, a set of Whiteline tops will give more than an ALK, but add the two and things get better...
Geo is better qualified to answer I think, but my car has both and it works rather well for me.
