Hey Guys

I am looking into a Tein SS kit for my Spec-C. I am after some feed back as to how they perform. Are they bone crunchingly hard?? Are they a worthwhile purchase??
I have toyed with the idea of simply uprating the damper/springs from the current STI set-up, but have decided that the Super Street appears to be more appropriate for what i need.

Hi mate im in the same boat,i dont know if i should buy springs or go for coilovers,but i dont do trackdays etc just wanting the car to sit a bit lower.Its a 2003 spec C with the pink shocks.Are these ok when you lower the car with these shocks or will it wreck them.Im wanting to go about 25-30mm lower

Hey Seano

The pink shocks are poo in a word and they start to knock after a while, if you are not doing track days then a complete new set of regular spring/shocks such as Bilstein/Koni/AVO etc are good replacements without going onto coilovers. Im looking for some coilovers without a hefty price tag and some which are going to be fairly compliant ie dont shake my fillings out.

I still need help with that last one myself.

ive got the TEIN S/S on my bugeye, been on for a couple of months now. havent had any probs with them, although they are set at 5, (they go between 1 -16) which is quite hard for crap roads and passengers(ie mum and dad... ) would have them set at 8 or 9 and take it from there, up or down. much better than standard set up( i had usual n/s/r probs) the S/S kit is height adjustable, and you can get the EDFC kit for it ( which i would have got with it had i had the money) Seano, i got mine done at Drivers in glasgow, so they can def help you out.

Tein SS was on my previous car (Civic Type R). Very nice piece of kit. I was very satysfied. No probs at all. Much better handling and response. Go for it! I will again.

I am now swinging well towards the Teins.
Seano, the SS (Super Street) kit is not too bad on price around 750 sheets. Your regular shock/spring combo will set u back around 550 sheets.

Hi mate i brought my car already fitted with tein flex coilover and it has the same settings (1-16). Which way to set the dampers hard/soft???? Is it clockwise for hard???

yes its clockwise for hard settings. just be careful not to exceed level 16 damper setting as it may damage it.
