I am just about to take the plunge and order a set of the above springs for my MY01, however have never had experience of either manufacturers gear. Can anyone guide toward one or the other ??
Ride height differences ?? Quality of drive ?? Turn-in ?? COST ??
thanks....EwanS

Eibach make the prodrive springs, but the eibach after market offering is marginally stiffer, possibly better depending on your needs/wants... Best bet is to visit TSL to try out their Eibach car after you've visited your dealer to try out their prodrive car...

DrE,

I thought Trouser said he had both springs fitted on two different cars so you could try both???

Maybe I mis-understood him....

Thumbs up

Thanks Phil, I have no confidence in the cornering/handling ability of my My01, it is on 18"rims with Pirelli P zero rosso's and I don't like it wet or dry , its v v v twitchy!I will get myself down there asap.

Your car doesn't sound right

I mean the eibachs are great but my car was never twitchy before I had them

Although it runs on rails now

Phil ,
Sorry to hi - jack slightly, but I feel more confident putting my wifes 406 barge round a set of bends. Mine esp in the wet handles terribly even around large roundabouts the slightest throttle makes the car want to drift . The tyres have done 13.500 and not down to the wear indicators ,I run at 32-33 psi, with no uneaven tyre wear

Sandman, I to experienced poor handling on my my01 18" rims with P Zero Rosso's, The car didn't feel sure footed on the rear, infact I lost it one morning on a bend. This sound simlar to your self. I took the car to Powerstation and had the Prodrive springs fitted along with their full geometery setup and checked for bumpsteer (not needed). This car feels totaly different to drive now, maybe IM steeped in and swapped my car over while I wasn't looking ..., any way I can't recommend this mod highly enough, which sound like would also cure your problem. For £180+vat to fit springs and setup geometery its not that expensive. Car now has less body roll, less understeer, less noise dive under breaking, less weight shifting when cornering, sits slightly lower 15-20mm. Hope this helps.....

My MY01 WRX is on the 18" rims with Pzeros and standard springs - I have to say that even in stock form it handles better than my old MY00 - certainly never had the 'twitchyness' described by some here. That being said I am going to Powerstation on Friday to have the Eibachs fitted and geometry done so I will let you know my thoughts then. To be honest the real purpose was to lower the car a little, but if it does improve the handling to the degree mentioned here then great

Wink

Chris,

Springs are for better handling so you can go faster round bends m8 NOT for looks (that's supposed to be a by-product )

Yo Evil!!!

Im trying to get this right - you obviously want to try both on the same size wheels..... but you think the TSL set up is better already???

Are you saying the Prodrive kit isnt as good??

Red face

Sorry Sandman

If your car doesn't handle as well as your wifes Pug 406 then you need a serious look at the car

My tyres were replaced after 10k

and I ran F 32psi and R 28psi RECOMENDED BY TSL

A BASIC WRX should run rings round most cars on the road round bends

Phil
