Default Prodrive springs

I have an MY07 STI and thinking about having it lowered, too much room in them there wheel arches!

Is it perfectly okay to have just the springs changed while leaving the standard shocks in and what are people's opinion of the Prodrive ones?

Also, another question - totally unrelated and a bit strange.......

Has anyone changed their horn, the standard one sounds like summit you'd get from Postman Pat's van ! Not a big issue as i tend not to use it much but it is a bit lame !

Cheers

I can recoomend the Prodrive spring

IIRC they are cheaper for the WRX than Eibachs but PD Sti onee are slightly dearer but you do get bump stops. and PD ones are Specifically designed for the STi retain the orignal struts

Cheers Tony.

Do the springs make much difference to the actual ride quality, also how much did it cost you have the springs fitted?

The Prodrive springs lower about 20mm front and 25-30 rear but leave a few weeks for them to settle in, My mate said his 05 Sti ride quality was much better than the orignals. I found the Eibachs slightly harder and lower on my STi than Prodrive ones but more prone to bottoming out on the front, so fitted PD ones when came out (Sh1te roads around our way)

Spings are about £225 get you SIDC discount, fitting range between £100-200, 4wd 3D geometry £80-110. shop around and mix n Match. lots get them fitted by Dealer then take them to Specialist 4WD 3D wheel aligment(Powestation, TSL, Soobyclinic & RCM etc etc). or buy the springs take them to be fitted and alignment done. so around £450-£500 ish

GC8 Probably better to stick with Eibachs

IIRC on the Newage cars Prodrive springs are diffrent because of the front end weight difference of the STi and WRX
